چکیده

The Klein-Gordon-Einstein equations of classical real scalar fields have timedependent solutions (periodic in time). We show that quantum real scalar fields can form non-oscillating (static) solitonic objects, which are quite similar to the solutions describing boson stars formed with classical and quantum complex scalar fields (the latter will be studied in this paper). We numerically analyze the difference between them concerning the mass of boson stars. On the other hand, we suggest an interesting test (a viable process that the boson star may undergo in the early universe) for the formation of boson stars. That is, it is questioned that after a second-order phase transition (a simple toy model will be considered here), what is the fate of the boson star composed of quantum real scalar field. Symmetry breaking in (gravitating) scalar field models describing interacting boson stars and Q-balls

We investigate the properties of interacting Q-balls and boson stars that sit on top of each other in great detail. The model that describes these solutions is essentially a (gravitating) two-scalar field model where both scalar fields are complex. We construct interacting Qballs or boson stars with arbitrarily small charges but finite mass. We observe that in the interacting case – where the i...

Maximum Mass of Boson Stars Formed by Self-Interacting Scalar Fields

We make analytic derivation for maximum masses of stable boson stars formed by scalar fields with any higher order self-interactions and show that those are equivalent to numerical results. It is shown that the contribution of the higher order self-interaction terms to the maximum mass decreases as (m/Mp) 2 power. Towards a realistic axion star

In this work we estimate the radius and the mass of a self-gravitating system made of axions. The quantum axion field satisfies the Klein-Gordon equation in a curved space-time and the metric components of this space-time are solutions to the Einstein equations with a source term given by the vacuum expectation value of the energy-momentum operator constructed from the axion field. As a first s...

A Numerical Study of Boson Stars: Einstein Equations with a Matter Source

The study of the properties and dynamics of self-gravitating bosonic objects in Einstein gravity was conducted. Bosons are promising candidates for dark matter. They can form compact objects through a Jeans instability mechanism. We studied boson stars made up of self-gravitating scalar fields, with and without nonlinear self-couplings. These are non-topological solutions of the coupled Einstei...
